Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
Saturday, May 4, 2013 – 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday, May 5, 2013 – 10 am to 4 pm
Spring Art Festival and Sale to benefit children's programs at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. All artists residing in California are invited to apply.
Art in the Pines is a 2-day celebration of nature through the interpretive eye of the artist. After 3 successful years it is being held for the 4th year at a time when the Reserve’s wildflowers are in full bloom. The outdoor venue is atop the mesa near the Torrey Pines Visitor Center.
The days will include music, refreshments, guided nature walks, children’s art and activities, and artist demonstrations. California artists who work in a variety of media will display and sell their art while at the same time benefitting educational programs at the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.
During the Art in the Pines days, May 4th and 5th, 2013, visitors to the reserve will enjoy not only the unique landscape of Torrey Pines but also be inspired by the nature-themed paintings, sculptures, ceramics and photographs of over 100 artists.
Competition of recently painted plein air paintings representing the beauty of Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve or Torrey Pines State Beach will be a highlight of the event.
When you purchase your favorite works of art, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that proceeds of the art sales benefit the children's nature educational programs at Torrey Pines.
